NREMT Disability Accommodations Policies and Application for Testing

July 18, 2019

Here is the link if you need a reasonable accommodation to take your NREMT exam(s).  Please read their policies and then follow the steps if you are eligible to receive any sort of accommodation from them. (Instructor candidates, I am including you in this because as a future Instructor, you should also be familiar with their testing policies.) https://content.nremt.org/static/documents/Check_list_for_accommodations_candidates.pdf

Who is for What?

When you received your course access email, you are given an instructor’s name and contact information. That person is who you need to email for any questions or if you need help about ANYTHING while you are taking the online portion of your course that has to do with coursework, assignments, exams, or grading.  If you don’t get a result within 3 business days, it means it probably went to internet heaven and email again.  But when you email others…

Roll Call Issues, Deadlines and Extensions

April 23, 2019

Logging into percomcourses.com and into your class weekly is how we take “roll call” to ensure you are meeting the requirement that you attend weekly.  After you complete your final exam and start skills and rotations, you still must continue to do the weekly “roll call”  So you are required to continue to log in once a week to your coursework, even when the coursework online is done.  We do check every few weeks to see where you are in…

Deadlines and Course Access

September 25, 2018

Attention ALL students:  When you receive your course access email, it states what your didactic and/or overall deadlines are for your course for which you are enrolled. If you are in Paramedic, it gives you deadlines for P1, and then your deadlines for P2 when you get access to P2.  These deadlines are set for a reason, and you should write them down and complete your coursework before the didactic deadline and your skills and rotations before the overall course…

Lecture on “Vehicle Borne IED’s from Kabul – MCI Management” by Jeffrey Gibson

February 3, 2018

If you missed this lecture from Kabul by fellow Paramedic student, Jeffrey Gibson, you might consider watching it.  It is eye-opening.  Even though this is from Afghanistan, events like this can and have occurred in the U.S. – the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, the Las Vegas shooting massacre, the Oklahoma City Bombing, shooting events in schools, restaurants and military bases. We must be prepared to be the first responders on scene for LARGE events.

Cheating or Helping Others to Cheat

October 6, 2017

These courses are designed to be used as a method for each student to gain certification with national and/or state licensing authorities and professional stature in the EMS community.  Cheating, helping others to cheat, plagiarizing or breaching copyright by sharing or posting exam or homework questions/answers or published course or textbook materials to others and/or publicly posting the same on internet sites (even those designed for sharing study guides or making flash cards) is not only against PERCOM’s posted policies…

Reminder about Homework ALL Classes

April 19, 2017

Please remember that you MUST send your homework in as you go and not inundate your instructor with most or all of your assignments at one time. If you do the latter, it will significantly slow down grading and posting for you. The instructor will not stop grading everyone else’s submissions (who followed instructions to send them in as they go through the course) to grade a lump sum of assignments for one student.
